Analysis

My essay is going to be on the song Vacation from Shane Dawson. It’s a really good song and my daughter loves it. We’ll start things off with the first verse. “Don’t ignor my call, cause I got a lot to say, gonna tell ya what went wrong, why I had to run away” sings Shane Dawson. He is talking about running away and how he has a lot to say to him or her. They don’t want you to ignor their calls because they want to tell you these things. They are gonna tell you what wwent wrong in the relationship and why they had to leave it.
The next part is the pre-chorus I believe. It repeats in front of the chorus a lot. “Cause you’re in my face, always on my case, I just need some space away from you” he sings. I believe this one means it’s cause he or she is always in their face. Also apparently they argue a lot or nitpick about everything. Then it just comes out and bluntly says they need space away from he/she.
Part three would have to be the chorus. It comes after the pre-chorus most of the time. “I need a vacation cation cation, yeah I need a vacation cation cation, There’s nothing you can do, Doesn’t matter where I go just as long as it’s away from you” sings Dawson This is where it gets fun. It’s pointed out that they need a vacation, but where does he need the vacation? Apparently as long as it’s away from he or she, it’s fine.
Then the second verse comes into play. He sings “No more stupid fights, no more searching through my phone, feels like paradise when I think about being alone.” Apparently they get into a lot of fights about stupid things. It’s rude when people go through your phone for no reason. It’s over stepping boundaries just a little to much. However, apparently he/she does it. Then he bluntly tells us about how it is paradise when he thinks about being without her or him.
Next comes the pre-chorus then three chorus. Then comes the bridge of the song. Dawson sings, “Woah! I just wanna let you know that, Woah! I don’t need you anymore and WOAH! Now it is my turn to take control.” The woah’s are just for show to make the song sound better. However it is the lines between them that is what we want to look at. It is apparent that he doesn’t need this person anymore. He makes that part perfectly clear. Now the time to take control part is a bit difficult to pick apart, but I’ll give it a whirl. I think he might be talking about how he wants to be the one in control of his life. Not have someone else boss him around or get up in his face and argue a lot.
The last parts of the song is two chorus and then the last line of the chorus. “Doesn’t matter where I go just as long as it’s away from you” he sings. We all know what this part means, it’s as clear as day. However this is the end of the song I’m afraid, but now comes the fun part. My opinion of the song is a very good one. After all this IS my daughter’s favorite song that I listen to. Her god mother, Amanda Shaffer got her hooked on this song. I bought it for my phone and she absolutely adores getting my phone and listening to it when every she can.
It may have been a short song, but I think it had a good story to it. Talking about how someone is always trying to control him and that he’d rather be alone. It’s a good story. I get it stuck in my head a lot. Sometimes you can hear me humming or singing it. Now whenever I turn this song on you know you’re definitely going to hear my daughter sing it. She is a big fan of this song. Thank goodness it isn’t the other Shane Dawson song.
The other Shane Dawson song is called “F*** Up.” It isn’t a good song for children to hear. However, Amanda and I will sing it together every so often, when we see each other. It talks about being a screw up in better terms. However, I wont talk more about this song cause it veers away from my original plan.
Now, back to The Vacation Song by Shane Dawson. Like I was saying, it’s a really good song, and so far I haven’t read any bad words in it. That is a good thing, cause my daughter sings it all the time. She will come up to me when I have my phone in hand and say “cation mommy?” and I cant resist that little face of hers. I got it situated on my phone where she can get to it easy without messing anything up on my phone.
Our friend, Amanda, had it as her ringtone for a while there. She was obsessed with the song and would turn it on for Rebecca, everytime she came over. It was so cute seeing my little angel dance the way she did. Even my grandmother enjoys the song. She loved watching Becka dance to this song. It was something we all enjoyed. Then the fad kinda faded out. Becka still enjoys the song, but we don’t enjoy it as
Well this is the end of my essay. I hope you enjoyed It as much as I did making it. This essay was simple enough. The song had it’s perks and then it just faded like old jeans being put through the washer several times a week. It just isn’t as pleasant to wear as it was the first time you wore them. Well good day, and good night!
